What is the practice schedule?

The coach will determine practice day(s) and times, typically about two days per week until games start. Practices and games start after spring break.

What is the game schedule?

T-ball, Rookie, and Minors typically play two games per week. Monday–Friday games start at 5:30 p.m. Saturday/Sunday game times vary from 8 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Schedules are usually released around spring break.

JBO (5th–8th grade) games are during the week and involve travel out of town. Games typically start between 5:30–6 p.m. Weekend games and tournaments are possible but not the norm.

Is it mandatory for players to attend a tryout or evaluation?

Every player in 3rd–8th grade will need to be evaluated during tryouts. More info will be sent to those who register by Feb 1st.

Players in K–2nd grade do not have a tryout; they are placed on teams by the league (default is to place them with kids from their elementary school when possible).

Where are games played?

Cal Ripken (K–4th): All games are at local fields: Jaquith Park (Newberg), Dundee Billick Park (Dundee) Ewing Young Elementary School, or St. Paul HS.

JBO: About half of the games are in Newberg at Jaquith Park; the other half are in other towns in the Westside Youth Baseball League.
